Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Lead a classroom of infants or toddlers (ages 6 weeks to 24 months) while maintaining appropriate teacher-child ratios
- Create and maintain a warm, nurturing environment that supports each child's individual development
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development
- Maintain detailed daily records of each child's feeding, diapering, sleeping, and activities through our digital communication platform
- Conduct regular developmental assessments and maintain individual portfolios for each child
- Partner with families through daily communication, formal conferences, and documentation of children's growth and development
- Ensure classroom compliance with all licensing requirements and Wonder Years School health and safety protocols
- Mentor and support assistant teachers in implementing curriculum and best practices
- Participate in regular professional development opportunities and staff meetings
- Maintain and organize classroom materials and environments to support children's exploration and learning
- Collaborate with other teachers and administration to ensure program quality and consistency
Qualifications Required
- At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED required.
- AA/BA/CDA in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or 12 ECE units completed: Child Development, Child Family Community and 2 curriculum courses. For an Infant or Toddler position the Infant/Toddler class is required as one of the curriculum courses.
- 12 months experience working in an early childhood education program.
- Fingerprints clearance through Department of Justice for Child Abuse Index Check and Criminal Record Statement.
- Ability to speak, read, and write the English Language.
