Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain appropriate teacher – child ratios, ensuring visual supervision of children at all times.
- Develop and maintain a safe, healthy, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment for all children and families.
- Understand and follow Wonder Years school policies and procedures to ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with licensing requirements.
- Plan and implement age and developmentally appropriate curriculum for children based on children's interests and needs, including daily open-ended activities to expand their competencies across developmental domains. Develop and submit lesson plans to the School Director.
- Observe and assess children's development and progress, and provide regular feedback to parents and conduct parent teacher conferences. Use the assessment in developing learning goals for children.
- Develop and maintain portfolios that document the unique strengths, skills, and areas of growth for the children in your primary care on a regular basis.
- Communicate daily with parents, share the important milestones in their child's day in person and via school app.
- Collaborate with other teachers and School Director in providing a high quality early education program reflecting Wonder Years School philosophy.
Qualifications Required
- At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED required.
- AA/BA/CDA in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or 12 ECE units completed: Child Development, Child Family Community and 2 curriculum courses. For an Infant or Toddler position the Infant/Toddler class is required as one of the curriculum courses.
- 12 months experience working in an early childhood education program.
- Fingerprints clearance through Department of Justice for Child Abuse Index Check and Criminal Record Statement.
- Ability to speak, read, and write the English Language.
