Primary Responsibilities
- Classroom Management:
- Maintain appropriate teacher-to-child ratios while ensuring constant, vigilant supervision.
- Foster a safe, healthy, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
- Curriculum Development & Delivery:
- Collaborate with co-teachers to design and implement an age-appropriate, emergent curriculum centered on children's interests and developmental needs.
- Plan engaging, open-ended activities that support competency growth across various developmental domains.
- Communication & Assessment:
- Observe and assess children's progress, providing regular, constructive feedback to parents.
- Engage in daily, meaningful interactions with parents—both in person and via our school app—to share milestones and updates about their child's day.
- Policy & Procedure Compliance:
- Adhere to Wonder Years School policies and procedures, ensuring all activities meet or exceed licensing requirements.
- Work in close coordination with fellow educators and the School Director to uphold the highest standards of early education.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 6 months' experience in an early childhood education setting.
- Successful completion of fingerprints clearance through the Department of Justice for Child Abuse Index Check and Criminal Record Statement.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
