Primary Responsibilities

  • Classroom Management:
    • Maintain appropriate teacher-to-child ratios while ensuring constant, vigilant supervision.
    • Foster a safe, healthy, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Curriculum Development & Delivery:
    • Collaborate with co-teachers to design and implement an age-appropriate, emergent curriculum centered on children's interests and developmental needs.
    • Plan engaging, open-ended activities that support competency growth across various developmental domains.
  • Communication & Assessment:
    • Observe and assess children's progress, providing regular, constructive feedback to parents.
    • Engage in daily, meaningful interactions with parents—both in person and via our school app—to share milestones and updates about their child's day.
  • Policy & Procedure Compliance:
    • Adhere to Wonder Years School policies and procedures, ensuring all activities meet or exceed licensing requirements.
    • Work in close coordination with fellow educators and the School Director to uphold the highest standards of early education.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 6 months' experience in an early childhood education setting.
  • Successful completion of fingerprints clearance through the Department of Justice for Child Abuse Index Check and Criminal Record Statement.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
